Their platform uses computer vision and machine learning to automate clinical documentation in real time — directly improving patient safety and operational efficiency.
We are seeking a Senior Application Engineer to own mobile development across iOS and Android. This is a foundational role at an early-stage company where your engineering will be used by clinicians in live surgical environments.
What You'll Do
Mobile Application Development
Build and maintain high-quality, enterprise-grade mobile applications for iOS and Android — both tablets and smartphones
Develop native features in Swift for iOS and Kotlin/Java for Android
Leverage React Native for cross-platform development where appropriate
Collaborate with designers to implement intuitive, responsive interfaces optimized for clinical environments
Computer Vision & AI Integration
Leverage Vision Kit and CoreML for advanced image recognition and real-time processing features
Integrate LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, etc.) into mobile workflows for conversational interfaces and clinical documentation
Build context-aware AI chat experiences using patient records, medications, and appointment data
Implement vector databases and semantic search for intelligent data retrieval on-device
Platform & Infrastructure
Own mobile build and release pipelines for both App Store and Google Play
Integrate with backend systems and third-party APIs ensuring security and HIPAA compliance
Apply edge AI principles — performance, memory, and power trade-offs for mobile deployment
Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for mobile reliability
What We're Looking For
5+ years of mobile app development experience
Proven expertise in native iOS development using Swift and SwiftUI
Experience with Android development using Kotlin or Java
Hands-on experience with React Native, TypeScript, and JavaScript
App Store and Google Play release pipeline experience
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, Git, and Agile development practices
Strong understanding of mobile security best practices
Nice to Have
Experience with Vision Kit, CoreML, AVFoundation, or ARKit
Prior work on healthcare applications or HIPAA-compliant systems
Experience integrating LLMs or AI APIs in production mobile apps
Familiarity with AWS SageMaker or cloud-based AI model endpoints
Multi-form factor development experience (tablet optimization)
